![]() ![]() Yes, I have shutdown and yanked the power cord and done an SMC reset, but nothing improves. Not sure if that is related to the black screen, but I get the same exact errors every single time I run Disk Utility. ![]() When I boot with CMD-R held down and run the Disk Utility check on my internal 1TB Apple SSD (or do the same in Single User mode), it says my disk is OK, but it does give me some odd errors as shown in this screenshot: Even after waiting a very long time, I still see that. But even in Safe Mode, if I choose Restart or Shutdown, I get a spinning spiked wheel for a time, but then I get the Black Screen and Arrow Pointer. I can hold down the power button on back until the iMac powers off, then press it again and boot to the desktop. But as a result of this problem, I cannot install the current security update (2020-002 10.13.6), even when I click the Restart button in Apple Store Updates. But when I try to either Restart my High Sierra 2015 5K iMac or choose Shutdown, I get a black screen with arrow point. I can hold down CMD-S and boot into single user mode just fine. I can hold down Shift and boot into Safe Mode just fine. Googling this issue only shows solutions for people who BOOT to a Black Screen with Arrow Pointer. ![]()
